The 26th of July square, next to the Rio Majagua Gastronomic Complex, will be the venue for the event in the southwest of Avila in homage to the heroes and martyrs of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks.

The meeting, on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the important Revolutionary Deed in the centenary of the birth of Martí, will take place from 8 am after the parade of the participants who will meet in the early hours in front of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Independencia Street.

As part of the programme conceived for the occasion, there will be the presentation of awards to a group of outstanding groups during the stage, among them those who have fulfilled the commitments dedicated to the important commemorations, to conclude with a recreational area and the sale of various products.

Among the tasks dedicated by the collectives of the territory to the transcendental date is the completion of the two kilometres of the pipeline required to restore water service to the town of Guayacanes, the reopening of the Camilo Cienfuegos School in Río Grande, and the improvement of the grandparents’ house of Orlando González.

In addition, the programme of activities for the 71st Anniversary of the Moncada heroic deed includes beautification and sanitation activities, the provision of services by the staff of the Office of Procedures of the Municipal Directorate of Territorial and Urban Organisation to distant communities, and sporting events organised by members of different trade unions.
