The Central Workers’ Union of Cuba and the Trade Unions joined the National Day against Fires that started this Monday all over the country with a plan of activities aimed at preventing accidents in workplaces in all sectors.
In this regard, the Secretary General of the CTC, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, pointed out that this is the ideal moment to train and raise the culture of prevention among the members of the fire brigades in the workplaces.
He added that the programme conceived by the trade union movement is part of the occupational health and safety management system with a view to the comprehensive care of people and material assets of each work group.
The Politburo member called for exercises to be carried out eventually in the productive and service entities in order to avoid loss of human life and the country’s economy.
