Ciego de Avila had a busy weekend of sporting activity with several national events, including a visit by a delegation from the presidency of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder).
The tour, chaired by Osvaldo Pérez Vento, president of Inder, was essentially an exchange with directors, officials and workers of the Avila sports sector about the fulfilment of the objectives for the presentation of the Cuban Sports System to the National Assembly of People’s Power, in the coming month of July.
The provincial capital hosted the National Baseball Championship 5, youth category, in which the local representation reached the first place and together with Sancti Spíritus will be in the grand final that will start on the coming 24th and which is also hosted by Ciego de Ávila.

The Giraldo Córdova Cardín Hall was also the venue for the Eighth Edition of the Danny Pelegrín Judo Cup, in which the Avileños won seven titles, in a competition in which 250 athletes from 13 provinces took part.
