Construction companies in Ciego de Avila are making progress in the assembly of the photovoltaic solar park in the town of Grego, which should contribute 21 megawatts to the National Electricity System.
In the final stage of civil construction, the panels are expected to be operational before the end of the first quarter of the year due to the tireless work of workers from different sectors.
As part of the plans to gain food sovereignty, two other installations of this type are being prepared in the territory in areas of the municipalities of Baraguá and Venezuela, with the projection of building another in Majagua.
This year, Ciego de Avila should generate around 80 megawatts of electricity through the Photovoltaic Solar Parks, in addition to the contribution of the Ciro Redondo Bioelectric Plant, investments that place the province at the forefront in the use of renewable energy (Author Iván Paz Nogueira).
