The constant productive activity of the women and men of the Majagua canning factory is intensified at this time of the year with the simultaneous development of two production processes, pineapple and mango.
In the case of the fruit queen, whose campaign covers several periods, including the months of June and July, the collective has been able to send more than 600 tons of this raw material to the industry’s mills for the production of jams and concentrated juices for national consumption.
In relation to mangoes, the number of tons received exceeds one hundred, which is equivalent to the production of about 40 tons of pulp to be used later in the production of jams and compotes, actions that also require the dedication of these workers in the food industry.
The pineapple supply, except for a little more than two tons produced in the Cooperative of Credits and Services «Orlando Expósito», the rest comes from the province of Matanzas, unlike the mango which is almost entirely produced in the municipality, management in which the collectives of the CCS Humberto Castellanos, from the main town; Orlando Expósito, from Campo Hatuey; and Héctor Díaz, from Rio Grande stand out.
In spite of the high temperatures and epidemiological threats, among other inconveniences, the workers of the sixty-year old industry of the southwest of Avila do not give up in their efforts to reach the planned 1500 tons in the case of mango and more than 900 tons in the process of pineapple, the latter work where the month of November is also available.
