In an exercise of true democracy, the Avilanian students elected the representatives of each pioneer collective, an act with which they paid homage to Francisco “Paquito” González Cueto, the first pioneer martyr

During the day filled with joy, the corresponding posts and functions of those who will represent their classmates before the collective of teachers were designated, according to the votes obtained in a direct and public manner

During the important process the pioneers ratified the commitment to fulfil their principal task which is to study, prepare for contests, and actively participate in the centre’s activities such as camping trips, cleaning the garden plot, cultural shows, sports competitions, and in everything that is necessary and important like supporting the actions for saving electricity and water

Various activities accompanied the day which invites the strengthening of the bases of the José Martí Pioneer Organisation (OPJM), with the legacy of its martyrs, and especially of the undisputed leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, in what constitutes an indispensable step in student life, which demonstrates the maturity and development of the learners
