Repair actions continue on South Conduit breakdown

Brigades from Waterworks, forces from the Cuito Cuanavales contingent and workers from the MSME Bécquer, continue working on the solution to the serious breakdown that has been located since the past day 13 in the 800 mm T-section of the South Conduit, as reported by the Provincial Directorate of Waterworks and Sewage in Ciego de Ávila

Edwin González González, director of Water Resources in the province,
explained that work is being done to replace the section of pipeline, and to drain the area, as only after drying can the required welding actions proceed once the damaged sections are emplaced.

The executive emphasised that together with the workers the highest authorities in the territory are acting without rest to, in the shortest time possible, re-establish the supply, in an estimated time of no less than 18 hours to achieve the re-establishment of the service.

The executive recognised the commendable work and endeavour of the Waterworks, Cuito Cuanavales and MSME Bécquer Hydraulic Repairs brigades in solving the breakdown.
