The arrival of several products of the standardised family basket of products in high demand, such as rice, corresponding to previous months, brings relief to consumers by not having to turn to the informal market for their acquisition at high prices.
Dianeidys Cañizares Hernández, commercial director of the Grupo Empresarial de Comercio en Ciego de Ávila (GECCA), explained to Invasor that, specifically rice had 3 pounds pending from the month of December, 7 in January and 7 in February, but today, this distribution cycle is practically completed and only some 40 warehouses in the municipality of Ciego de Ávila remain, to complete a total of 17 pounds per capita.
Still, he said, there is no response on the delivery for the month of March, which will be reported when the figures are available.
As for sugar, the delivery of two pounds for the month of March has been completed and that of April is already in the territory, but the distribution will begin when the process of the delayed products is completed.
Cañizares Hernández pointed out that the distribution of oil also began at the end of February, and so far 210 of the 491 warehouses have received it. The municipalities of Chambas, Bolivia and Primero de Enero have already completed one hundred percent of the establishments, while the municipality of Ciego de Avila has received it in 80 bodegas.
According to the distribution policy approved by the Ministry of Domestic Trade (Mincin), which guarantees the products in the country, 7 pounds of rice are still pending for the month of March, as sugar, grains and fortified milk for children have already been delivered, added the commercial director of GECCA.
Likewise, under agreements between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Mincin, controlled beans are being distributed at 196 pesos per pound. This supply of national production, guaranteed by companies in the territory, such as Chambas Grain, has already been delivered to the municipalities of Bolivia and Primero de Enero and continues in the rest.
The directive informed that, in addition, bath and washing soap was available for the two-month period from March to April, and only the localities of Chambas and Ciego de Ávila have yet to receive it. The sale of toothpaste has been approved, but has not yet entered the province.
The delivery of boneless meat for children from 0 to 6 years of age began in mid-March and the distribution of cigarettes for those over 18 years of age, corresponding to the previous month, is continuing in the municipalities that have not yet received it.
