Today the cock crowed an hour late, at 7.00 o’clock in the morning. The reasons are obvious: with his warning, the celebration of the commemoration of the Moncada anniversary in the province began.

The provincial event took place in the area where the symbol of the city is located, the pride of the people of Morón, who since May Day 2023 have turned the famous mound of earth where the fine and virile monument is located, into a space for cultural and political events of transcendence.

Orlando Concepción González, deputy to the National Assembly of the People’s Power, gave his usual stamp and talent to the script, bringing together in the celebration among others: Lucy Sanfont, Alain Poveda, Líen Piloto, actors and actresses of the Morón Teatro company, accompanied by the centenary Municipal Concert Band, directed by maestro Pedro Pardo Barbosa.

As usual in this type of commemoration, awards were presented to the municipalities of Ciego de Avila, Venezuela, Primero de Enero and Baraguá, as well as to outstanding institutions and organisations of the province and the municipality of Morón, in the company of the main authorities of Ciego de Avila.
