The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, today expressed her condemnation of any type of violence, particularly political violence, while lamenting the shooting death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in the United States.

“We lament this event that occurred in the United States with this activist, Charlie Kirk. We are totally against any violence, and particularly political violence. So, also our condemnation of acts of this type,” said the president in her habitual press conference.

Kirk, general director and co-founder of the youth organisation Turning Point USA, passed away the previous day after receiving a gunshot during an event at Utah Valley University (west of the country).
