In community activities, characterised by their solemn meaning, the Association of Pedagogues of Cuba in Morón granted the status of Jewels of Avilanian Pedagogy Post Mortem to educators Estenia Estrada Gutiérrez and Rogelio Castillo Pérez.

The corresponding plaque was placed at the respective homes of their family members, in activities attended by leaders from the Party, Education, the Association of Combatants and the Association of Pedagogues.

In both cases, the individual merits of Estenia Estrada, dedicated to Special Education work at the Raúl Gómez School in this city, were exalted.

Regarding Rogelio Castillo, his merits as a History teacher, his affable and friendly character, and his professional results in centres such as the Miguel Calvo Antolín Secondary Schools, in Enrique Varona and at the Roberto Rodríguez school in this city, as well as at the Nguyen Van Troi Pre-University Institute, were exalted. His contributions as a trade union leader were also recognised.

Floral tributes were placed where their remains rest in the city cemetery, where they were also honoured with a simple cultural activity.
