Plenary sessions of the Cuban parliament to begin

The Second Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP) in its X Legislature will open its doors today, in this capital, with a program of activities that will last until next Friday, December 22.

Prior to this, meetings of the permanent commissions of the highest legislative body in Cuba were held for two days, where current issues of great relevance for the country and the lines of work to be deepened at the meeting were discussed.

On Wednesday, the objectives and goals of the Cuban economy for 2024 will be discussed with a presentation by Alejandro Gil Fernández, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Planning, who will provide information on the progress of the Cuban economy, its results and challenges in view of its fundamental indicators and the complex situation the country is currently going through.

Along these lines, the draft bill of the State Budget for next year will be analyzed, which will be presented by the Minister of Finance and Prices, Vladimir Regueiro Ale, and the ratification of the decrees laws and agreements of the Council of State will be submitted to the consideration of the deputies.

In the space, Oscar Silvera Martínez, Minister of Justice, will specify about the implementation of the Family Code and the fulfillment of the Legislative Schedule, together with Rubén Remigio Ferro, President of the People’s Supreme Court, who will explain details of the implementation of Law no. 143 of the Criminal Procedure.
