In the framework of the 64th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Socialist Character of the Revolution, the founding date of the political organisation, a group of 86 cadres and workers who have worked uninterruptedly in the structures of the Communist Party of Cuba, were recognised.

In the ceremony presided over by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez; Yudí Rodríguez Hernández, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee and head of its Service Department, recognised the honorees as faithful continuers of the revolutionary work and the teachings of Fidel and Raúl.

She told them that, with their daily work and dedication, they have offered an important part of their lives to the service of the Homeland and remain loyal, committed and aware of what the Party means for the present and the future of the nation.

He stressed that with their moral authority, the Party and the entire militancy must be in close and permanent contact with the people, raising their protagonism in the solution of the difficulties that arise, taking a small piece out of each problem at all times.

On behalf of the honorees, Luis Roberto González Pedré, an official of the Ideological Department of the Central Committee, said that the organisation summarises the aspirations and goals of Cuban patriots throughout history.

«The ideas, principles and strength of the Revolution are concentrated in it. From it we learnt the need for indestructible unity,» he said.

He said that for them this moment means a high honour and a high commitment.

«We will always be on the «Paths of the Vanguard» and we will know how to close ranks in defence of the homeland bequeathed to us by our leaders Fidel and Raúl, and the generation that has brought us to the present,» he stressed.

«We are proud to be part of the ranks of the Communist Party of Cuba, and we understand that militancy is an act of consecration to the ideals that the organisation defends,» he affirmed.

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party was accompanied by the Commander of the Rebel Army, José Ramón Machado Ventura; the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organisation, Roberto Morales Ojeda, and other members of the Secretariat and the party organisation.
