Students from all over the country will parade today in commemoration of the 172nd anniversary of the birth of José Martí, Cuba’s National Hero.
With initiatives to honour the Apostle, pioneers of the various grades of education will gather throughout the territory to pay tribute to the most universal of Cubans.
This initiative is part of the day «I am a sincere man», which will last until next May, the 130th anniversary of the fall in combat of the author of Versos Sencillos (Simple Verses).
The José Martí Pioneers Organisation is also dedicating this parade to the 66th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution and the 64th anniversary of this student structure.
Every 28 January Cuba commemorates the birth of José Martí, an essential figure in the history of the nation, Latin America and the world, whose pro-independence and anti-imperialist thinking marks the path of emancipation projects today.
