«No One Tells Us What to Do»

«Sick with rage at the sovereign decision of this people to choose its political model,» after its «go in and smash» Cuba – one of the most recent threats – the occupant of the Oval Office and his death squad issued yesterday a sort of Sunday ultimatum against the Largest of the Antilles.

The Island, as a «free, independent and sovereign nation», which «does not aggress, is aggressed by the USA for 66 years, and does not threaten, prepares, ready to defend the Homeland to the last drop of blood,» has said: «No one tells us what to do.»

So affirmed on X the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, following statements by the US President, Donald Trump, with which he attempted to intimidate the people, alleging that «there will be no more oil or money for Cuba. Zero! I strongly recommend you reach an agreement before it is too late.»

In rejection of the anti-Cuban discourse, the Island’s leader stressed: «They have no moral standing to point at Cuba for anything, absolutely anything, those who turn everything into a business, even human lives (…) Those who blame the Revolution for the severe economic hardships we suffer should be silent out of shame. Because they know and acknowledge, that they are the fruit of the draconian measures of extreme suffocation that the USA applies to us for six decades and threatens to surpass now.»

The people of the Antillean nation, «dignified, brave and heroic» – asserted the member of the Political Bureau and President of the National Assembly of People’s Power and of the Council of State, Esteban Lazo Hernández – «will not yield to threats or blackmail. The Homeland we defend to victory always.»

Faced with this new aggression, which disregards sovereignty and self-determination, the member of the Political Bureau of the Party and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, reiterated on the same social network, «the profound conviction of being an eternal Baraguá,» and urged to respond like Maceo: «Whoever attempts to seize Cuba will only gather the dust of its soil soaked in blood, if they do not perish in the struggle.»

To the Washington Government, which presents itself as pacifist and, at the same time, supports the genocide in Gaza and Lebanon, provides weapons for the continuation of war conflicts, is responsible for extrajudicial killings in the Caribbean and the Pacific, has kidnapped the President of a sovereign country and spreads its imperial poison across all continents, the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organisation of the Central Committee, Roberto Morales Ojeda, reminded it that «Cuba stands firm. The Revolution does not know defeat.»

«Those who today launch furious attacks against the nation lack all moral authority to point.» About «the severe economic hardships we suffer,» he emphasised that they are part of «an economic war that seeks to subdue what they could not defeat.»

Trump forgot, it seems so, that from Africa, Latin America and other latitudes where the Largest of the Antilles has been internationalist in the liberation struggles, it has only brought back martyrs and heroes.

In that sense, the member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, affirmed that «Cuba does not receive nor has ever received monetary or material compensation for security services it may have provided to any country. Unlike the USA, we do not have a Government that lends itself to mercenarism, blackmail or military coercion against other States.»

He insisted on the absolute right of Cuba to import fuel from markets willing to export it and who exercise their own right to develop their trade relations without interference or subordination to the unilateral coercive measures of the USA.»

And he affirmed: «right and justice are on Cuba’s side. The USA behaves like a criminal and unrestrained hegemon that threatens the peace and security» of the entire world.

For its part, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, ratified, through a statement, its historic position within the framework of relations with the Island, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and International Law.

Regarding the binational link, it stressed that it has been cemented «in brotherhood, solidarity, cooperation and complementarity.» And it reaffirmed that international relations should be governed by the principles of International Law, non-intervention, sovereign equality of States and the free determination of peoples.

They reiterated that political and diplomatic dialogue is the only path to peacefully resolve controversies of any nature.
