The 64th National Baseball Series today launches its second particular sub-series, a menu in which the clash between the Santiago de Cuba Wasps, unbeaten leaders, and the Pinar del Río Vegueros, at the Guillermón Moncada, stands out.
The indomitable ones, who lead the table with 5-0 and sport the most demolishing attack of the tournament (.364 average, 61 runs and 10 home runs), will send Wilber Reyna (1-0), author of five zeros on his debut, against Gabriel Cantero, who will make his first start for the pinareños.
The duel promises fireworks: the santiagueros await with their star Yoelquis Guibert, leader in runs batted in (12) and the pativerdes count on William Saavedra, top home run hitter (4).
In Artemisa, the 26 de Julio stadium will host the clash between the Cazadores (3-1) and the Cienfuegos Elefantes (1-4). The Latinoamericano will witness the duel between the Mayabeque Huracanes (1-3) and the Industriales (4-1). The visitors will depend on José Ignacio González, who will debut this season, while for the blues Pavel Hernández will repeat, strikeout leader in the tournament with 11 in just five innings.
Villa Clara (1-4) will seek to recover at the Victoria de Girón against the Matanzas Cocodrilos (4-1).
Maikel Pérez (0-1) will carry the responsibility for the oranges and Noervys Entenza (0-0), who allowed only one run in three episodes, will do so for the yumurinos.
