New Minibuses Incorporated into Urban Transport in Ciego de Ávila (+Photos)

Five Foton-brand minibuses with 14-passenger capacity (20 pesos per person) will commence service in Ciego de Ávila city on Monday, 7 July.

Deynis Echemendía Donet, Director of Taxis Cuba Jardines del Rey Agency, announced the vehicles’ itinerary. Departing every 20 minutes from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the route will commence at reparto Aeropuerto, proceed to the Morón Highway interchange roundabout, continue to the University of Medical Sciences, return via the same route to rejoin the Central Highway, travel along this artery to the bus terminal, proceed along Máximo Gómez Street (passing the provincial hospital and José Martí Park), and cover the full Aeropuerto – Empresa Porcina (Pig Farming Enterprise) route.

These Chinese-manufactured buses feature air conditioning. A real-time vehicle tracking app will be available to passengers.

Echemendía Donet added that five tricycles previously serving this route will be redeployed to operate between Calle 18 in reparto Canaleta and José Martí Park.
