Juan Alberto Iglesias, Art Instructor at the Casa de la Cultura Haydé Santamaría in the city of Morón and director for 44 years of the Rayitos de Sol Children’s Circus, received the award Los Zapaticos de Rosa, given by the National Bureau of the Union of Young Communists and the José Martí Pioneers Organisation.
At the award ceremony, the directors of Culture in Morón praised the efforts and dedication of Iglesias for more than four decades in the preparation of children in different expressions of circus art with very positive results, many of whom have continued their studies at the National Circus School.
During this period, Juan Alberto Iglesias has also carried out international missions, and has toured numerous municipalities and provinces of the country with presentations of the Children’s Circus Rayitos de Sol, with a wide range of attractions such as balancing, contortions, magic and other acts, winning applause and recognition.
«I dedicate this recognition to all the little ones who make up the great family of our children’s circus, and I take this opportunity to thank the support that this project receives from many organisations, such as Culture, parents and family members,» said Iglesias.
