National Bus Services: Intermodal Routes and Summer Route Resumptions

Ahead of the imminent summer season, when students and many workers enjoy well-deserved holidays, interprovincial travel enables visits to family, friends, or recreational destinations across the country. Despite technical fleet limitations, the National Bus Company (EON) will facilitate passenger mobility across its established routes.

During summer, EON will ensure intermodal services on the Batabanó-Pinar del Río and Batabanó-Santiago de Cuba routes. This provides onward connections for passengers travelling to/from the Isle of Youth via ferry or catamaran, enabling travel beyond Havana.

Passengers departing from the special municipality must purchase intermodal tickets covering their final bus destination to avoid issues. Priority boarding will be given to those with pre-booked intermodal tickets.

Additionally, two routes will permanently resume: the Havana-Vertientes service (fortnightly departures Mondays, returning Tuesdays from Vertientes) and the Havana-Corralillo route (weekly Saturday departures with same-day return). These measures restore pre-Covid routes, with gradual expansion dependent on fleet availability.

Current operational constraints prevent scheduling regular extra departures. However, occasional additional trips may operate if conditions permit, with timely public announcements.
