Bastión Universitario 2026 took place on the grounds of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in the northern Avilanian municipality of Morón, as part of strengthening combat readiness and response capacity in exceptional situations, particularly in the current context marked by the direct threat from the American empire.

«Defending the homeland is a duty, a commitment as a young revolutionary. We have prepared ourselves militarily, but also ideologically and humanly,» stated student Jorge Reyes de la Paz, president of the University Student Federation (FEU) at the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Ciego de Ávila.

The bastion formed part of the preparation being carried out in the country as part of the territorial defence system, focusing on response to unconventional warfare, as well as political-ideological work with the new generations.
