For three days, Morón hosted the National Rock Festival Utopía, with the participation of groups from Havana, Artemisa, Mayabeque, Santiago de Cuba, Santa Clara, and Morón, as the host city of an event marked by brotherhood and passion for this genre.

This festival was not competitive, but rather bet on cultural exchange and interaction between musicians and followers of this evolving artistic expression.

The recreational centres El Moronero Ausente and Punto de Encuentro were the venues for this event, which included concerts, citizen participation games, and a workshop titled El Rock por dentro, allowing an in-depth look at the evolution of this genre in the country.

Utopía demonstrated that rock in Cuba is not only alive but flows forcefully in the soul of the youth, shedding obsolete stereotypes and embracing new forms of expression. (Author: Leonel Iparraguirre González)
