The work La Cenicienta… según los Beatles was the calling card of the colmeneros at the capital’s Ho Guom Theatre
Ingeniousness and purity combined in the performance, in Vietnam, of the Cuban children’s theatre company La Colmenita, founded and directed by Carlos Alberto Cremata, to leave an unforgettable impression on the hearts of the audience.
The work La Cenicienta… según los Beatles, a renewed version of the classic tale, accompanied by the immortal songs of the legendary British group, was this time the calling card of the colmeneros at the capital’s Ho Guom Theatre, which defined the staging as a song to optimism.
On the cultural institution’s Facebook page it was revealed that, with their performance, the young actors «took the audience back to a living, innocent and joyful childhood».
The most unforgettable moment – it reads on the site – was when a Cuban child clearly raised his voice to exclaim «Vietnam! Ho Chi Minh!», and the audience responded with a round of applause and by intoning the song Como si estuviera el Tío Ho en el Día de la gran victoria, by Vietnamese composer Pham Tuyen.
The excellent performance of La Colmenita was «like an affirmation of the unity and strong vitality of the friendship existing between Vietnam and Cuba for 65 years», it refers.
When reviewing the presentation of the distinguished Cuban children’s theatre company, designated in 2007 as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, the Vietnamese news agency vna highlighted that «beyond entertainment, the work transmits a profound message: ‘The love you receive will be equal to the love you give’.»
The show, intended for all ages, was a festival of music, colour and joy that transmits values of friendship, solidarity and shared talent, it emphasised.
For his part, the Cuban ambassador to Vietnam, Rogelio Polanco, considered the performance of La Colmenita as an excellent artistic gift for the 80 years of Vietnam’s independence, and highlighted, furthermore, that with an abundance of talent they managed to captivate the audience.
In attendance at the presentation were, among others, the member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Minister of Public Security, General Luong Tam Quang, the Vice President of the National Assembly (Parliament), Nguyen Thi Thanh, and the Vice Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang.
