Improvement of the electric service situation in Ciego de Ávila

The Electric Company in Ciego de Ávila reported that for this Thursday, August 25, it is estimated to have a deficit of 50 MW.

Taking into account the improvement in the generation capacity and the maintenance of more stable levels, since yesterday three blocks have been formed that will allow, if this condition is maintained, to turn off the circuits for three hours and have 6 hours of service.

Yesterday, the deficit in generation availability was maintained throughout the day with a maximum of 51 MW. This situation will continue today.

The average outage time per circuit was 5 hours and 35 minutes. The maximum demand, in the province, was 114 MW at 8:40 p.m.

On the other hand, The Electric Union reported on its official website that during the day it estimates a maximum demand of 750 MW.

Limitations are maintained in the thermal generation of 402 MW and 1126 MW in the distributed generation, unavailable due to breakdowns and 487 MW under maintenance.

The source informed that for peak hours, the entry of unit 2 of CTE Santa Cruz with 74 MW and the use of 150 MW in diesel engines is forecast.

With a forecast of availability of 2,436 MW and a maximum demand of 2,980 MW, for a deficit of 544 MW, therefore, if the foreseen conditions are maintained, it is estimated that 614 MW will be affected at the peak.
