Good refrigeration and air-conditioning practices course called for

The Ozone Technical Office, in collaboration with the Subdelegation of Environment of the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba in Ciego de Avila (DT Citma) and the Ministry of Education, invites workers involved in refrigeration and air conditioning activities to participate in the course of good practices in these specialties.

Free of charge and lasting one week, this training course will be held at the Frank País García Polytechnic Institute, located in the municipality of Morón, and is aimed at workers in the state and non-state sectors, who will have the opportunity to update their skills in order to carry out their duties in accordance with global regulations aimed at promoting procedures that ensure the preservation of the ozone layer.

Livia Polin García, a specialist from the Environmental Sub-delegation, emphasised that the classroom-laboratory where the courses will take place has modern equipment and tools that facilitate practical activities, so that the knowledge acquired during the training can be demonstrated.

The theoretical and practical classes are related to the handling of natural refrigerants, new tools and instruments, identification of problems and solutions, and the creation of safety skills in the use and recovery of high-risk gases, according to the programme.

To enrol, interested parties must present a graduate certificate in refrigeration or air conditioning, or have experience in the activity, which must be demonstrated by means of a knowledge certification exam prior to the start of the course.

At the end of the training, participants will receive an accreditation card that certifies the knowledge acquired and the skills to perform these functions in accordance with international regulations to which Cuba is a signatory, such as the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment, aimed at the progressive reduction of the use of ozone-depleting substances.

For more details on registration, interested parties can call 33 201139 or go to the Subdelegation of Environment of the DT Citma.
