These days it is stimulating to read some headlines and information published on this website and the news programmes of Radio Surco, the radio station of Ciego de Ávila.
The aforementioned headlines say; Working in Morón to increase dairy production, Ministry of Agriculture ensures recovery of Avilanian company, Torula yeast factory in Ciro Redondo revived, Ciegoplast manufactures compensation tanks, Sale of agricultural products continues in newly inaugurated “La Cuba” market, Poultry farming alternative reanimated in Ciego de Ávila, …among others.
The reports concern the recovery of food productions, materials and elements that contribute to the territory’s economy and the welfare of the population.
The Avilanian province had already demonstrated progress, which allowed it to win the hosting of the national event for the 26th of July and such a condition served as impetus and commitment for greater endeavours.
Currently, strong work is underway to obtain food from agriculture to supply local markets and contribute to the supply of other Cuban regions.
Poultry and dairy production are of utmost importance and a certain increase in these basic foods is noticeable, which still do not meet consumers’ needs, but there is a determined effort to increase their presence in daily deliveries.
That the torula yeast factory in Ciro Redondo and the Ciegoplast factory in the Avilanian capital undertake new productive challenges are favourable indicators for the territory’s employment landscape.
The coming months will be important for the take-off of other productive sectors in a decisive year for revitalising the Cuban economy, as an imperative in the need to improve the life of Cuban society.
