First-grade students, from all over Cuba, will become part of the José Martí Pioneer Organisation (OPJM) today, a step that reaffirms the commitment to strengthen patriotic values and the formation of students, in honour of the National Hero’s legacy.
This event not only implies receiving the blue neckerchief, but also highlights the importance of instilling in the pioneers principles of patriotism, solidarity, and respect, as well as their preparation to be future leaders committed to the nation.
On the 58th anniversary of the physical disappearance of the heroic guerrilla Ernesto Che Guevara, under the slogan «Pioneers for Communism, We Will Be Like Che» the memory and example of the internationalist combatant is honoured.
The ceremony is therefore key to strengthening, in the new pioneers, values of social responsibility and fosters the duty to prepare for future life with principles of empathy, in consonance with the OPJM’s mission of forming exemplary future citizens.
The day is a symbol of unity and commitment on the part of the pioneers, who reaffirm their spirit of struggle and their love for the Homeland, from the classrooms, as an additional incentive for Cuban families to continue working for the comprehensive formation of children and young people, in the legacy of the Apostle and in defence of the ideals of the Cuban Revolution.
