Although the appearance of positive cases of COVID-19 keeps the province of Ciego de Ávila on alert, Primero de Enero has maintained its epidemiological situation stable since August 2022.

This was announced by Elicerio Pupo Gómez, municipal director of health in the territory in the temporary working group held on Tuesday, where he also mentioned the beginning in the coming days of the application of the third reinforcement for vulnerable groups such as those over 60 years of age, health workers and MININIT, pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy and nursing mothers.

Pupo Gómez also explained that, as regards dengue, there are no active outbreaks or reactive cases, although the appearance of people with symptoms prevails, which leads to a constant study, isolation and home admission to rule out the disease.

We are working on control actions and vector control of febrile cases in the communities where there are suspicions in order to avoid the spread of dengue and the focal increase of the aedes aegypti, said the source.
