This year, work will continue on the rehabilitation of coastal dunes by planting native plants, removing invasive exotic plants and building wooden walkways to prevent the compacting of the mounds, which are recognised as a natural barrier against extreme hydro-meteorological events.
The recovery of more than 10 kilometres of beaches with sand revetment, in areas of the Coco, Guillermo and Paredon Grande keys, became an action aimed at mitigating the effects of erosion and increasing the bathing area, to offer a higher quality product.
