The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced yesterday that she will not attend the forthcoming Summit of the Americas
Given the exclusion of Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua from the forthcoming Summit of the Americas, scheduled for the 4th and 5th of December in the Dominican Republic, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced yesterday that she will not attend the meeting, which is a demonstration of her firm stance in defence of inclusion and regional respect.
In rejection of all forms of foreign interference and in support of the sovereignty of the nations of the area, she assured that, in accordance with Mexico’s foreign policy: «We will never agree with the exclusion of any country,» reported the newspaper La Jornada.
The denunciatory voice in favour of dignity of the Mexican President adds to that of delegates from more than 35 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and other parts of the world, who this Sunday expressed their rejection of the exclusion of the three nations and, in reparation, convened a People’s Summit in Santo Domingo.
