The Social Media Workshop held prior to the 5th International Patria Colloquium, which on this occasion was called «Girón Victorious», functions as a tactical training ground that grows stronger with each meeting. Its realisation is strategic for both organisers and participants.
By using videoconferencing as a technological support, the territorialisation of defence against cognitive warfare is guaranteed, connecting all provinces and decentralising preparation.
The workshop offers practical training in network management, designed to be applied immediately by journalists and communicators. Taught by international experts, this time it featured Argentine speakers María Fernanda Ruiz, Estanislao Santos and Manuel Fernández Ceballos, who shared the theme «Communication, digital territoriality and technopolitics: how to wage the cultural battle on the Internet?»
It is an event that reveals an updated approach from a Southern perspective, or in other words: it serves as an injection of updated knowledge on cognitive dispute and algorithmic automation, to ensure that the Colloquium debates are grounded in contemporary tools and not just theory.
This experience also fosters community integration, promoting actions that take the «battle of ideas» from the virtual plane to the social base, fostering a critical digital citizenry.
The workshop, which took place on 14 April under the name «Girón Victorious», connects the current struggle with the 65th anniversary of the Girón epic, presenting communications defence as a continuation of physical resistance against external aggression. As with every edition of Patria, it forges the social capillarity and technical updating necessary for the event’s political declaration to be truly effective in digital practice.
