Investments of social impact in three municipalities of Villaclare were checked today by Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, who is on a one-day visit to this central province.
The tour began in Quemado de Güines where he checked the state of construction and the services provided by the 8 de abril polyclinic and in an exchange with a community of 1,080 neighbours he was informed about the main problems of the population.
Corralillo was the second municipality visited by the president, where he reviewed the potential for grain production in the territory.
Yoanis González Hernández, first secretary of the PCC in the municipality, explained the strategy for the development of the locality and the main actions for food sovereignty.
On the lands of Santo Domingo, the president verified on site the construction of the Bermejal Photovoltaic Park, which will have 43,900 panels and will generate more than 21 MW to the National Electro-energetic System.
Eduardo Enrique Pérez Reyes, director of the electricity company in the province, detailed the synchronisation schedule of the five parks planned in the territory and ratified the benefits that it will bring, including the saving of approximately 30,000 tonnes of fossil fuel per year.
In several farms visited, the will to increase the production of food to the people with a diversification according to the needs of the inhabitants is also appreciated, and 1,593 tons planned this year in 10 caballerias of land with a mini processing factory included.
The First Secretary was accompanied during the fruitful day by the member of the Political Bureau Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organisation of the Central Committee of the PCC, as well as the main authorities of Villa Clara.
