Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, continues today touring the province of Pinar del Río throughout the country.

The municipality of Consolación del Sur is the destination of the head of state on the day, as part of the current cycle of tours, which aims to visit places that do not achieve good productive results and help solve the problems, reported the Presidency in X.

Accompanied by Roberto Morales Ojeda, secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC, and local authorities, Díaz-Canel began his agenda at the Empresa Pecuaria Genética Camilo Cienfuegos, which closed the year 2023 with 50 million pesos in losses.

The inefficient management of cattle and the insufficient planting of protein plants were criticized by the President in this entity, in which five of the seven units have losses, their productions do not exceed three liters of milk per cow, and at the end of last January their plan remained at 87 percent (%).

The President emphasized, in dialogue with workers and managers, that if the country wants to move forward, this inertia cannot continue; he referred to the difficult situation with the importation of powdered milk, for which solutions are being sought, but more must be produced, according to the Presidency.

This February 1, in Santiago de Cuba, Díaz-Canel and Morales Ojeda closed a first work tour initiated in January, to check the priorities of the different territories in this 2024, and in the following week they began another cycle to reach places with problems and contribute to their solution.
