Development of consultation process for Draft Bill of the Labour Code

The consultation process for the Draft Bill of the Labour Code began in the Avilanian municipality of Morón with a preparation seminar in which administrative and trade union leaders of the territory participated, as part of the pilot training for the preparation of the cadres.

At the meeting, Doctor Idarmis Knight Soto summarised the most significant changes contained in the new proposed text, and exhorted those present to study it carefully, to be able to conduct the entire programme of meetings scheduled until 30th November.

Emphasis was placed on the democratic character of each trade union meeting, with emphasis on individual or collective opinion, as part of the enrichment of the Law that will govern the working life of the working class in the country.

According to the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, all workers must participate in the consultation process, which includes the state sector, the non-state sector, MSMEs, non-agricultural cooperatives, self-employed workers, local development projects, and will even include Cuban workers abroad.
