Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Relations of Cuba, denounced today on social media platform X that Florida politicians obstruct and threaten American and Cuban-American businessmen resident in that State who maintain economic-commercial relations with public and private entities in the Greater of the Antilles.
His message on that platform further states that the aforementioned threats occur while the United States government claims to defend free enterprise and the freedom of its citizens to invest and do business in any nation.
In this sense, Rodríguez Parrilla underscored that these operations are carried out under licences issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the Department of the Treasury, which demonstrates the legality of the ties.
However, in the text he pointed out that under unfounded pretexts there are attempts to close spaces for cooperation and limit opportunities for exchange.
Who blocks and severs ties between the two countries? Who maintains a retrograde and criminal policy and an economic war against the Cuban people?, the Foreign Minister questioned in his post, accompanied by the hashtag #TumbaElBloqueo (EndTheBlockade).
The head of Cuban diplomacy reiterated that the unilateral coercive measures imposed by Washington constitute an obstacle to the development of the Cuban people and an act contrary to international law, while calling for an end to the blockade policy which for more than six decades has affected the Caribbean nation.
