Thousands of Avileños gathered today at the Máximo Gómez Báez square to celebrate with a political-cultural gala the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the heroic deed led by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, on January 1, 1959.

The provincial act for the transcendental anniversary was also the scenario for the incorporation into the ranks of the Party of 65 new members from different sectors of society and the awarding of the Latir avileño distinction to 52 outstanding entities of the territory.

Likewise, the municipality of Morón was recognized as the most outstanding in the emulation of the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, and Chambas, Florencia, Majagua, Ciego de Avila, Ciro Redondo and Baraguá as outstanding.

With the local talent, the spirit of resistance and dignity of the people in the face of the aggressions and blockade was demonstrated in the cultural part and it was urged to seek solutions to the difficulties and shortages that affect the quality of life of the population.
