Cubans Residing in Argentina Reject US Blockade

The Union of Cuban Residents in Argentina (URCA) issued a firm statement condemning the new set of economic sanctions imposed by the US administration, described as an unprecedented escalation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.

According to today’s publication on the official website of Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the communiqué denounces that the presidential memorandum of 30 June 2025, signed by President Donald Trump, intensifies existing restrictions by completely prohibiting US tourism to the Greater Antilles, establishing financial audits on travel, and vetoing operations linked to Cuban entities such as GAESA.

Furthermore, the text cites the condemnation by Cuba’s National Assembly of People’s Power of this economic, commercial and financial war that violates International Law and disregards repeated UN resolutions – actions which Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla described as «criminal conduct violating the human rights of an entire nation».

The source indicates that during the day, URCA reaffirmed its support for statements by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and the backing expressed by ALBA-TCP countries, while demanding the immediate cessation of coercive measures, Cuba’s removal from arbitrary lists such as state sponsors of terrorism, and free financial and tourist circulation.

Similarly, URCA’s communiqué concludes with a call to uphold the dignity and sovereignty of the Cuban people, to never yield, and to defend their rights and dignity.
