Two title defences, a second foray and four debuts on circuits of that type will flavour the test to be overcome by Cuba in the professional boxing programme scheduled for the next 29th at the Meliá Internacional Hotel in Varadero.

The most striking segment will include the figures of the highest rank among its representatives: the triple world king Lázaro Álvarez and the Olympic champion Erislandy Álvarez, called to face men with extensive careers on those stages.

They will be clashes over 10 rounds, and both will seek to retain belts from the World Boxing Association (WBA) won on 11th April in that same tourist facility, when for the first occasion the home fighters performed under the auspices of their promoter Agon Sports.

Both Lázaro and Erislandy are undefeated as professionals, in nine and five outings respectively, and have sufficient talent to prevail, but in that type of duel the «tricks» of experience tend to be important, and those are more on the side of their opponents.

Intent on adding a second triumph of that rank, Yusnier Sorsano will step into the ring, who impressed on his debut by knocking out the Mexican Javier Castaneda in the initial round.

It will be a challenge equally marked by the greater experience of his opponent, a reality that will also mark the one destined for Saidel Horta, Alejandro Claro, Nelson Williams and Keylor García, in their debuts at that instance.

True that the first two are backed by world silver and bronze medals, in that order, but their rivals have more than 15 fights of this class and that record must be taken into account.

The evening will begin at seven o’clock and will add two other bouts, animated by foreigners, which confirms Cuba as a destination for such confrontations.
