With a special recognition to about twenty workers, the Provincial Radio Network in Ciego de Ávila celebrated this Tuesday the Day of Cuban Radio on its 101st anniversary, while the municipal stations also evoked the event with special morning papers.

Professor Ángel Broche Ruedas referred to his beginnings in the radio medium and the importance of preserving its historic legacy, while urging the Radio Surco collective to work hard to celebrate the centenary of Radio Surco on the coming February 24th..

The recognition of the most outstanding workers for the 101st anniversary of Cuban Radio praised the sound producer (already retired) Odalis Taboada, who confessed that her happy years were spent precisely as editor at Radio Surco.

The tribute of the Provincial Radio Network in Ciego de Ávila for Cuban Radio Day included the participation of the comedian duo Manuel Lión (El Nene) and Roberto Castillo, as well as a chronicle by Brizaida de la Nuez, current general secretary of the Union Section of Radio Surco.
