Cuban Culture Day is celebrated in Morón

Dedicated to Alejo Carpentier and the 20th anniversary of the José Martí Art Instructors Brigade, the Cuban Culture Day is taking place in the municipality of Morón in Ciego de Avila, and will last until 20 October.

The Casa de la Cultura Haydée Santamaría was the venue for the inauguration, in which Larry Morales, author of several books and researcher from Morón, referred to the genuine work of the Cuban writer who is being honoured on this occasion.

In the presence of Benito Martínez Ausina, first secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party, the inaugural gala paid tribute of remembrance and respect to the radio broadcaster in Morón Elizabeth Iparraguirre Jorge, who passed away recently.

At the end of the event, the Fanm Zetwal Group provided the prelude to the start of the scheduled activities, which included extensions, talks, discussions and workshops. (Redacción Informativa R.M)
