Cuba Thanks ALBA-TCP Support for Restoration of the SEN

Cuba thanked the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), for the approval of an initiative to support the restoration of the electrical system on the island (SEN).

Bruno Rodríguez, Cuban Minister of Foreign Relations, expressed his country’s gratitude on the social network X for the international mission, promoted by the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, at the XXIV Summit of Heads of State and Government of the bloc.

The Foreign Minister affirmed that the project «constitutes a new demonstration of the Alliance’s essence as a mechanism that places solidarity and cooperation among brotherly peoples at the centre of its work».

The Cuban Presidency, on the same platform, also highlighted that the Special International Energy and Electricity Mission in Support of the People of Cuba reflects ALBA-TCP’s commitment to regional solidarity.

This Sunday, the Venezuelan president announced the aforementioned initiative while reading the final declaration of the Summit, which took place virtually on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the Alliance’s founding.

Maduro affirmed that he gave instructions to elevate «everything we are doing, two, three times more».

«We will emerge better, stronger, more aware and more victorious than ever,» he assured.
