Cuba Mourns Flood Damage in Chinese Capital

Cuban authorities expressed solidarity regarding the loss of human lives and material damage caused by recent floods in Beijing, China’s capital.

Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, lamented the consequences of intense rainfall occurring in several districts of northern China, which reached extreme levels in recent days.

«Heartfelt condolences and our full solidarity with the Party, government and people of China,» wrote the head of state on social media platform X.

Esteban Lazo, President of Cuba’s National Assembly of People’s Power and of the Council of State, also expressed solidarity today with the situation in the Chinese capital, where at least 30 flood-related deaths have been reported.

The parliamentary leader extended condolences to victims’ families and loved ones.

According to press reports, torrential rains damaged 31 road sections, disrupted power and communication systems, and caused power outages in 136 villages.
