Osvaldo Vento, President of the Cuban Sports Institute (Inder), today congratulated all communicators involved in physical activity coverage on International Sports Journalists’ Day.

Via social media platform X, Vento stated: «On International Sports Journalists’ Day, congratulations to those who make this work an expression of ethics and professionalism.»

The official expressed gratitude «for their contribution to the popular essence of #CubanSports».

Since 1995, 2 July has marked International Sports Journalists’ Day, honouring communications professionals specialising in sports coverage across all media formats.

The initiative originated from the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), aiming to highlight these information professionals’ daily work in promoting and giving visibility to sport.
