CTC prioritizes economic recovery in Ciego de Avila

Attention to preparations for the upcoming sugar harvest and food production among the main tasks in honor of the 65th anniversary of the Revolution and the 85th anniversary of the trade union organization.

The Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC) and its unions in the province of Ciego de Avila are carrying out several actions in honor of the 85th anniversary of its foundation and the 65th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution, both to be celebrated in January of the new year.

The union organization prioritizes the support to the preparations for the coming sugar harvest, which began to materialize its first achievements with the recent exercise of checking the repaired machinery at the Ciro Redondo sugar mill, and similar activity should be carried out this Saturday at the Ecuador sugar mill, in the municipality of Baraguá, according to Gisel Amuedo Yanes, maximum representative of the sugar union in the territory of Avila, as reported by Gisel Amuedo Yanes.

Niurka Ferrer Castillo, secretary general of the Provincial Committee of the CTC, also mentioned as a fundamental task the production of food for the people, the workers’ canteens and social institutions, in which the results of the Municipal Self-Supply Program and the use of more than 7,500 hectares of idle land given to 143 state entities, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Local Development Projects are decisive.
