Working for sustainable development in harmony with the environment is part of the objectives and work projections of Citma in the municipality of Morón, Avileña, during 2024, according to the Annual Balance of this institution in the territory.

Zulima Díaz Montes, Citma’s specialist in Morón, summarized the report on the work undertaken in 2023, highlighting that the municipality has seven science centers, in addition to 78 Innovators Committees with more than 1,600 members and two Youth Technical Brigades with 20 brigaders.

He summarized in the breakdown of the Scientific Observatory, that in Morón a governmental management based on Science and Research has been achieved, and he informed about the different strategic lines of the territory, such as agricultural and agro-industrial production.

Díaz Montes referred to eight projects
that make up the Strategic Line of Urban and Heritage Development, as well as Construction, with a compendium of geological heritage maps.

Among the scientific advances reported by the municipality at the end of 2023 are the transformations of the energy matrix, where the Solar Heaters factory plays a role of considerable importance.

At the end of the Citma Balance in the municipality, special awards for being the most outstanding in the province were given to the following groups. Scientists of the Roberto Rodríguez General Teaching Hospital; the Doctor Benito Llanes Municipal University Center; the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the Local Development Project.

On behalf of the Municipal Party Bureau, Doris Casola conveyed recognition to all members of the scientific movement of the territory and a message of congratulations on the occasion of Cuban Science Day (Leonel Iparraguirre González).
