The province of Ciego de Avila reaches the end of the year with growth in productive plans, compared to the previous year, challenges and commitments in homage to the 66th anniversary of the Revolution.
At the end of November, more than 37,200 tons of food were collected, the Municipal Self-Supply Programme surpassed 34 pounds per capita per month of food, vegetables, grains and fruits, the number of entities that requested land to support the food sovereignty plan increased, and the spring planting campaign surpassed the planned figure.
One of the challenges for the new annual stage in the territory of Avila is the increase of production in physical units, the provision of services and the distribution of profits.
Among these vital commitments are also the sowing of various crops in the current cold season, the fulfilment of the sugar plan for the 2024-2025 harvest, the sowing of sugar cane and the implementation of emulative movements in the agricultural and sugar production bases, with a view to increasing the offers to the workers and the population.
