Ciego de Ávila Maintains Limited Rotation of Circuits

The province of Ciego de Ávila has managed to maintain, since the disconnection from the National Electricity System (SEN), a rotation of 26 circuits, which has brought some relief to a part of the population, albeit in a very limited way.

This was reported by Julio Gómez Casanova, First Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee in Ciego de Ávila, through his official profile on social media, where he offered details on the complex energy situation facing the territory.

According to the information shared by the provincial leader, approximately 33 per cent of Avilanian customers have been able to receive electricity service for just over an hour, amidst the difficult conditions imposed by the contingency.

The most complex situation is reported in the municipalities of Chambas and Primero de Enero, where, so far, it has not been possible to supply power to any circuit, leaving them completely without service since the start of the contingency.

In contrast to the situation in these localities, Gómez Casanova specified that the National Electricity System has now been restored at the country level and is in the process of gradually increasing load, which should allow progress in the coming hours in restoring service in the provinces that still face greater limitations.

Avilanian authorities continue working to extend supply to as many circuits as possible, as conditions within the SEN permit, and will keep the population informed about the evolution of the energy recovery process in the province.
