Ciego de Ávila guarantees sugarcane harvest repairs

Despite resource limitations, Ciego de Ávila guarantees repairs to industry, machinery and transportation at the Ciro Redondo, Ecuador and Primero de Enero sugar mills, the three Avilanian giants that will contribute to the upcoming 2022-2023 harvest.

Danilo Fernández Madrigal, Director of the Agro industrial Sugar Company Ciro Redondo, explained each of the repairs being undertaken, including the protection and security measures by areas and the measures implemented to prevent illegalities and crimes.

Carmen Taboada González, Vice-President of the Bio-power Mixed Company, explained the details and challenges involved in guaranteeing the synchronization for the processing of the bagasse biomass in December.

Wilfredo Moreno García, AZCUBA harvest director, who heads the team visiting this central province, insisted that «the coming harvest is not financially guaranteed by the traditional scheme, which is why each input, each insurance, each means of protection must be detailed».

At the closing of this information, issues related to the guarantees for the planting of sugar cane in September, as well as the implementation of the 93 economic measures for the improvement of the Sugar Group, were still to be analyzed at the Ciro Redondo plant.
