Health officials in the province of Ciego de Avila warn about the environmental risks that complicate the epidemiological situation and the need for greater integration of organisations to minimise the indices of the Aedes Albopictus, Aegypti or Culex pipiens mosquito genus.
In this sense, the health authorities of the territory indicate the proper covering of containers, the periodic sanitation of animal drinking troughs, as well as spiritual glasses, cans, bottles and other high-risk containers.
According to the specialists, the low availability of pesticides makes it difficult to deal with the agent that transmits diseases such as Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya and Yellow Fever, hence the call to maintain the cleanliness of yards, gardens and rooftops.
They also insist on the need to carry out the so-called family autofocal in homes, schools and workplaces to avoid places prone to the appearance of vectors. Specialists of the Avilean health system allude that the arrival of the rainy season and high temperatures favour the presence of Aedes Aegypti or other transmitters of arbovirosis, hence the importance of reducing the risk of infection and to go to the doctor at the appearance of any suspicious symptom.
