The labour collective ratifies the category of National Vanguard and receives the Jesús Menéndez medal in the individual and collective order.

The workers of the Empresa de Materiales de Construcción de Ciego de Ávila have added new achievements to their record, not only in the productive and economic fields, and dedicated their recent successes to the celebration of the world proletariat, scheduled for next Thursday, May Day.

This flagship collective of the construction sector ratified the status of National Vanguard, for which they received the accreditation certificate on behalf of those present at the event, Norma Murillo Moré, secretary general of the Trade Union Bureau and Paulino Pérez Viera, general director of the entity known as Avilmat.

Obtaining the superior category, awarded by the Cuban Workers’ Central, corresponds to the dividends of business management in economic efficiency, quality of services, savings, innovative activity and trade union functioning.

In this sense, the company’s organisations took the initiative of handing over a plaque, with the aim of placing it in their respective historical sites, to their Business Units of Base Hormigón y Terrazo, Canteras Chambas y Jiquí, Materiales Florencia, Yeso Punta Alegre, Construcción y Carga, Logística y Aseguramientos, Servicios y Atención a los Trabajadores, Terracecar, and the Casita Infantil Amiguitos de Avilmat.

During the activity, Paulino Pérez Viera received the Jesús Menéndez medal, which was also awarded to the company’s collective, for the dedication of each of its workers to diversify, optimise processes and contribute to the recovery of the country’s economy.
