A novel presentation about the work of the radio broadcasters in CIego de Avila during the year 2024 kicked off the annual balance of the Provincial Radio Network in Ciego de Avila on Thursday, where the need to work towards an audiovisual product that is more and more similar to the listeners emerged.
The meeting was attended by Adrián Fonseca Quesada, ideological officer of the Central Committee of the Party; Alfonso Noya Martínez, president of the Institute of Information and Social Communication (ICS); Yuzaima Cardona Villena, general director of Radio Cubana, and political and government officials from this province.
Aspects related to the budget and licensing courses were some of the issues discussed during the meeting, in which Anelys Rodríguez Morales, director of Radio Morón, expressed her concern about the short-lived permanence of recent graduates in the media.
For his part, Luis Gutiérrez Abreu, director of programmes at Radio Surco, emphasised the importance of making a radio station that is more like the audience, for which it is necessary to leave the studios and move to the neighbourhoods and workplaces to make remotes that reflect the daily life of the people of Avila.
The presentation to journalist Cecilia Rodríguez Saavedra of the «Maestro de Radialistas» award for her example, perseverance and dedication in the training of new Cuban Radio professionals was a particularly special moment in the balance assembly held on Thursday.
At the end of the exchange, Noya Martínez acknowledged the performance of Alfredo Fernández Arcia, director of the Cadena Provincial de Radio, while he urged to think about how to make more productions of citizen participation, and to put knowledge in terms of science and innovation.
